Bel Air (sometimes incorrectly hyphenated as Bel-Air) is one of most distinguished and affluent residential community located in the the West side of Los Angeles, California. Bel Air is one of the three communities (Holmby Hills and Beverly Hills) that make up the Platinum Triangle or Golden Triangle of California real estate.
Bel Air is situated in Los Angeles's famous Westside, with the Mulholland corridor and Santa Monica Mountains to the north, Holmby Hills and Beverly Hills to the east, and Westwood and UCLA to the south. To the west, is where many Bel Air estates and homes look out to the renowned Getty Center Museum. Homes and estates in Bel Air have always and will continue to rank in the top tier in regards to value and price.
Bel Air is considered one the most exclusive communities in the world. At the heart of Bel-Air sits the Bel Air Country Club and the Hotel Bel Air. The community was founded in 1923 by Alphonzo E. Bell, Sr. It is bordered by Brentwood on the west and southwest, Westwood on the south, Beverly Hills Post Office on the east, and Sherman Oaks on the north.
Bel Air is home to many corporate executives, stars and celebrities. The homes in Bel Air are not visible from the street due to the hidden nature of them. Most of the homes are large, but some are modest as well. The higher up in the mountains you go, the smaller the homes get. Most of the homes of Lower Bel Air which is near the gate entrance, tend to be the priciest of the community because they are close to Sunset Blvd. Over the years, new homes were built in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains – in Upper Bel Air, estates offer impressive panoramic views of the Los Angeles. Lots are smaller than that of the estate homes below.
There are two main entrances to Bel Air, the first is located just off of Sunset Boulevard and Bellagio Road, adjacent to the entrance for the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). The second is at Beverly Glen and Sunset Boulevard.
